Work-Based Learning

What Is Work-Based Learning?

Work-based learning aims to provide students with authentic, hands-on experience in a professional work environment while developing essential skills and gaining practical knowledge related to their career interests.

Work-Based Learning With DVR

DVR supports students experiences across the WBL continuum. Qualifying students in our programs will complete a paid work-based learning placement within their field of study.

Our paid work-based learning placements are considered youth or pre-apprenticeships. Depending on the program, students who complete a placement will earn certifications or credentials along the way:

  • Nursing Assistant Program – CPR and AED Certification
  • Welding, Electric Vehicle Charger, HVAC and Trades Bootcamp Programs – OSHA 10 Certification
  • Pharmacy Technician Program – Initial Pharmacy Technician License
