DVR participates in a variety of Education/ Community Partnerships.
Near West Suburban Manufacturing & Engineering Careers Initiative
Goal: Creating a model for workplace readiness by equipping, empowering and engaging young people to immediately contribute.
Activities include participating in the Fluid Power Association FAMTEN Hub, promoting FAMTEN competition participation among feeder districts, and promoting apprenticeships.
High School/College Collaboration on dual credit curriculum initiatives
High School and Triton College Faculty meet to discuss possible Dual Credit Opportunities for students at the high schools.
DVR Education and Illinois Business/Industry leaders
The business and industry leaders met in October to discuss educational preparation for the workforce in the 21st Century. Dr. Robert Sheets was the keynote speaker, and industry panels included key representatives in Energy, Finance, Healthcare, Information Technology, Manufacturing, and Transportation/Distribution & Logistics career clusters.
