Geometry in Construction Unit 2: Pythagorean Theorem, Special Right Triangles, and Volume
In this unit the students will use Pythagorean Theorem with construction in a variety of ways; roofing, stairs, and foundation laying. Students will also relate similarity with special right triangles and pipe fittings. The unit will conclude with how volume relates to construction using concrete and insulation. The students will be building bean bag boards and doing framing for walls and floors.
Listed below are the lessons for the unit, additional resources in the form of activities and worksheets, and assessments to be used during and at the end of the unit. Please note that these lessons and resources are a work in progress and will be changed and modified throughout the school year.
