Geometry in Construction Unit 3: Trigonometry
In this unit the students will explore trigonometry through a variety of activities related to bridge building, surveying of land, and finding unknown distance and angles. Students will also explore angles of elevation and launch angles while constructing a water balloon launcher. Students will learn about ladder & scaffolding safety, roofing, and roof framing.
Listed below are the lessons for the unit, additional resources in the form of activities and worksheets, and assessments to be used during and at the end of the unit. Please note that these lessons and resources are a work in progress and will be changed and modified throughout the school year.

Geometry in Construction Unit 4: Transformations
In this unit the students will explore transformations of objects in the coordinate plane and will relate it to construction design and pipe fitting. The students will perform translations, reflections, rotations, and dilations in the coordinate plane and using construction tools. Students will work on framing of roofs as well as windows, doors, and exterior siding.

Geometry in Construction Unit 5: Constructions and Quadrilaterals
In this unit the students will learn about parallel lines, quadrilaterals, parallelograms, and work more geometric constructions. The students will relate quadrilaterals to foundations and board cutting. Students will use constructions and parallelogram properties for blue print designs. The students will work with electrical rough ins, insulation, and drywall hanging and finishing.

Geometry in Construction Unit 6: Circles and Conic Sections
In this unit the students will explore several properties related to circles. The students will relate arc length to finding non linear distances and sector area to patio design. The students will also explore conic sections with circles and parabolas. For construction the students will be hanging and finishing drywall, painting, and installing doors, cabinets, and trim.

Geometry in Construction Unit 7: Triangle Congruence
This unit will focus on congruent triangles and proofs. The students will prove triangle and parallelograms are congruent and use proof to show how parts of a construction are congruent. The students will write formal proofs and coordinate proof for triangles and parallelograms. The students will relate proof to their punch list in the final construction.

How Do You Measure Up?
by Pat Godziszewski
Strategy Name: How Do You Measure Up? —Applied Math Skills (Measurement)
Purpose/Objectives:
Students will demonstrate their understanding of metric and English/standard measurement in a work environment to complete a component of two projects.
Skills:
- Linear measurement
- Calculation
- Unit conversion
- Cooperative problem-solving
Advanced Auto Shop Management
The students will handle the entire customer side of the automotive business. A school automotive email will be established that students will use to communicate to the customers (teachers). They will be required to timely respond to the customer needs and schedule necessary appointments. Once the vehicle leaves the shop, students will write up an accurate invoice to reflect the services performed on the vehicle.
Metals: Mirroring Industry through departmentalization
In this lesson students will learn to utilize soft skills to work through a production simulation. Unlike most projects where a single student goes through all processes of metalworking in isolation, Students will be split into departments led by a student forman.
